Group Work Guidelines
For each assignment, pick a group member to be the Recorder. (This responsibility should rotate for each new assignment.)
All members should take on qualities of each of the other roles during any given meeting.
Recorder:
Writes responses after all have agreed.
Keeps track of meeting times (beginning & ending times) and attendance for each meeting!
Makes a note of what each member should do for the next meeting.
Facilitator:
Keeps meetings on track. Tries to encourage others to engage in constructive feedback. Tries to be aware of and identify sources of dysfunction in the group and bring it out into the open (constructively!)
Questioner:
Tests the validity of any answer by using "what if.." scenarios.
Questions other members on problems to be sure everyone understands each question & answer.
Responsibilities of each member:
When turning in assignments :
You will be graded on evidence of the following:
Are answers well justified with valid reasoning and work shown?
Is the justification easy to follow, read?
Are answers appropriately labeled, units of measure included?
Did group members make an effort to contribute to the cooperative process? (or was most of the attention focused on just completing the assignment?)
Did the group reflect and communicate on what aspects of the group worked well and what could be improved upon?
What steps did the group take to handle challenges in the group dynamic?
